  • Joint Collaborative project with National Kidney Foundation and the International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism: February 13, 2015 marked the first orientation call of the long awaited Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Guideline project. This effort is a landmark guideline project for the Academy as it marks the first time we have collaborated with the National Kidney Foundation and the International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism.

  • Standards of Practice & Standards of Professional Performance for RDs in Nephrology Care
    The SOP/SOPP workgroup recently completed the updated and new guidelines that were completed in September 2014 and published again in both the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Journal of Renal Nutrition.

    The new application deadline is February 28 every year now.

  • The Academy’s Board of Directors and the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) have taken a big step: "Registered dietitians now have the option to use the credential “registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN).” Why did we take this action? In short, because members asked for it.
